The Role
Land & Integrated Force Division is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Program Management Office (PMO) team. As the EL1 Assistant Director PMO, you will lead a small team comprised of both APS and Contractors to continue the development and maturity of the Division’s PMO practices and processes. We are seeking applications from high-performing individuals who are agile and have proven abilities to work with, manage and mentor a small team, are positioned to offer high levels of advice and support to various internal and external stakeholders, and who can think and act strategically to accomplish outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Broadly, the responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting the Program Director by providing leadership, strategic initiative and operational management of the PMO;
- Assist with building project management capability across the division;
- Managing and monitoring the finances and risks at the program level, escalating as required;
- Assisting with managing PMO related workforce/resourcing;
- Preparing executive level reports on program and project status;
- Contributing to continuous improvement, project standards and best practice;
- Implementation of PMO Governance and Assurance policy standards and practices;
- Analysing and interpreting project performance against agreed plans, developing, and evaluating strategies to achieve project outcomes;
- Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards;
- Supporting management of Project schedule, risk, budget, and resources (where applicable, where support is directly in project).

Land and Integrated Force Division delivers the innovation, science and technology programs in support of the Land and Joint domains. The team is responsible for understanding the highest priority S&T problems and challenges across the relevant Defence stakeholders and developing an integrated, balanced set of S&T programs to address these challenges.
Land and Integrated Force Division focuses on the following areas:

- Land System Integration, including Long Range Fires
- Defensive CBRN
- Special Operations
- Joint Operations Science & Technology
- Guided Weapons Explosive Ordnance
- Force Design & Integration
