Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The National Disability and Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking to fill an APS6 Engagement Support Officer role within the Office of the Participant Advocate Division.
This role contributes to ensuring the participant's voice is at the centre of all Agency work. The role manages a small team to support branches in the Agency with participant engagement. The role requires contact with participants who are members of Participant First and business areas, to set up working groups, interviews, 1 on 1 discussions and, guest speakers. The role also supports the Participant Reference Group.

Duties of the role include but not limited to:
- Project management - Plan and deploy team activities, communicating and educating key stakeholders on project deliverables.
- Facilitate engagement meetings, reference groups and other consultations, document and analyse insights gained from engagement.
- Develop accessible documents and information for a range of audiences, including NDIS participants.
- Analyse data to ensure participants are successful and relevant to the engagement project.
- Integrate learning and advice from stakeholders into future engagement activities.
- Create engaging and accessible project advertisements and design survey content for Participant First Newsletter.
- Consult with relevant business areas to determine participant engagement needs and support the development of engagement plans.
- Will be required to travel interstate from time to time.

- Be comfortable working both independently and within a team environment. They should be able to take initiative and manage their own tasks while also collaborating effectively with others.
- Have a background in project management, stakeholder engagement, or a related field. Experience working with diverse groups, including individuals with disabilities, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and continuous improvement. They should embody the organisation's values and be passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of NDIS participants.

Qualifications / Education (Desirable):
- Project management, marketing, business administration or a related field.

While this role is ideally performed from Geelong VIC, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of an extension up to 12 months may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
