Lead People Strategy in an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation
Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation (MKAC) is a dynamic, fast-growing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering culturally secure health and wellbeing services across Perth and the Wheatbelt.
We are seeking a skilled and people-focused Human Resource Manager to lead and strengthen our HR function. This role is ideal for a HR professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, is committed to culturally safe practice, and brings both strategic insight and hands-on capability.
You will oversee HR systems and workforce compliance, support leadership across operational teams, and guide a dedicated HR Administration Officer. You’ll work closely with the Director of Corporate Services and Chief Executive Officer to support our organisational stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of HR operations across MKAC’s metro and regional workforce
Provide strategic and operational HR advice to managers and senior leadership
Oversee HR systems, employee records, policies, and reporting
Support recruitment, onboarding, performance development, and retention activities
Promote and support a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and respectful work environment
Contribute to organisational change management and workforce planning
Mentor and guide the HR Administration Officer in day-to-day operations
Travel monthly to the Wheatbelt and to MKAC’s Perth-based sites as needed
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
Significant experience in a senior HR generalist or HR manager role
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work, and HR best practices
Experience supporting people and systems during organisational growth or change
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
Experience in Aboriginal health, community services, or not-for-profit settings is highly regarded
Experience using platforms such as Employment Hero or Tanda is desirable
Required: National Police Clearance (within 3 months), First Aid (or willingness to obtain), valid WA Driver’s License, and COVID-19 vaccination
