Description

Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (e.g., Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada) to cut steel and aluminium components.

Load and unload materials onto laser machines using cranes, forklifts, or manually.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to ensure accurate cutting and material usage.

Monitor machine operation and adjust settings for optimal speed, power, and focus to achieve precise cuts.

Inspect finished parts for quality, verifying measurements and tolerances with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment, including cleaning lenses, checking gas levels, and reporting mechanical issues.

Maintain accurate records of production and machine usage.

Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality control teams to meet manufacturing goals and deadlines.

Profile

Previous experience operating CNC laser machines, preferably in a metal fabrication environment.

Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and CNC programming (e.g., G-code, nesting software).

Experience working with steel and aluminium sheets of varying thickness.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing software

Job Offer

This is an ongoing role, paying $35 per hour and has the possibility of going permanent.
