Position: Oral Health Therapist
Location: BURWOOD
Experience Required: Minimum 12 months clinical experience required
Job Description:
As an Oral Health Therapist in our clinic, you’ll expand on your existing experience in a growth-oriented environment that values initiative, autonomy, and teamwork. You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a diverse range of preventive and therapeutic oral health services. You’ll also take ownership of your treatment space and actively contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive dental assessments, oral health screenings, and periodontal charting.
Provide dental hygiene services including scaling, root debridement, fluoride application, and oral hygiene instruction.
Deliver preventive treatments within your scope such as fissure sealants, temporary restorations, and care under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).
Educate patients on personalised oral health care and lifestyle improvements for long-term wellness.
Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to plan and implement tailored treatment plans.
Maintain full responsibility for equipment in your area—ensuring sterilisation, functionality, and compliance with infection control standards.
Ensure operatory readiness and contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient clinical environment.
Monitor and manage stock relevant to your role and proactively report shortages or issues.
Accurately document patient records in alignment with regulatory and practice standards.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of daily clinic operations with a proactive and team-first approach.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Oral Health Therapy from an accredited institution.
Minimum 12 months of hands-on clinical experience post-graduation.
Current AHPRA registration.
Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team.
A strong commitment to patient care, quality, and professional development.
Languages:
As we serve a diverse patient base, proficiency in languages other than English is highly valued. Fluency in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, or Hindi will be considered a strong advantage. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
