At Ivy Kids Early Learning, we’re not just opening a childcare centre – we’re building a home away from home where every meal fuels curiosity, growth, and joy. As our first Childcare Centre Chef, you’ll play a vital role in shaping healthy habits and happy memories for our littlest Ivy Kids.

Who We Are

Family owned and operated, Ivy Kids is a brand new 104 place centre committed to providing quality early learning experiences for families in our vibrant suburb of Glen Waverley. With five beautifully designed rooms across two levels and landscaped outdoor play spaces, we're creating a home-away-from-home where children and staff blossom.

As a brand new centre opening in June 2025, we offer a unique opportunity for an early childhood chef to be part of our founding team. Help us build a vibrant learning community from the ground up, where your ideas, creativity, and expertise will directly influence our children's nutrition and our centre's growth.

Your Recipe for Success:

Proven experience as a childcare cook preparing varied and nutritious meals for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years

As Food Safety Supervisor you will be required to support and oversee the food safety standards and practices implemented within the centre

Accommodate various dietary requirements, intolerances and allergies

Confidence managing stock control, online orders, and food safety documentation
Daily diligence with temperature checks, allergy protocols, and hygiene standards as outlined in our Food Safety Program

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Strong communication skills

Have an enthusiastic, friendly and respectful attitude and loves being around children

Liaise with Local Government Health Department and External Auditors

Qualifications Required

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

Safe Food Handling Certificate

Current Working with Children Check

Police Check

First Aid & CPR certification

Child Protection training

2 professional references who have worked with you for at least 12 months

Early Childhood Cert III or Diploma (desirable but not mandatory)
