Meliora Support Services

🌟 About Meliora:
We’re Meliora Support Services - a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation supporting people with Disability and Aged Care needs across SEQ. And we're looking for our very first Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Our name means "towards better" - and that’s what we work towards every day: better systems, better relationships, better outcomes.
We're passionate about ensuring the loving treatment of everyone connected to Meliora, rather than billables pressures and unhealthy work schedules for our team.
We believe care and support starts with 'Meeting People Where They're At'. We support people through complexity, walk beside them through growth, and celebrate the small wins along the way. We lean into challenges with curiosity and sensitivity. And we aim to keep a sense of humour and humility through the week-in, week-out cycles of working in this sector, with participants who are humans first, clients second.
We also have excellent systems developed in-house from the ground up - ensuring that we can take our clients home with us in our hearts while the details, processes and deadlines of the services we provide remain safely intact in our system - giving you space to maintain a life of your own, beyond your job.
At Meliora, we collaborate constantly - across teams, roles, and service areas. We work side by side, not in silos. We check in on each other, pitch in where needed, and share knowledge freely. We also recognise the need for professional supervision and are building relationships to support the new Occupational Therapy wing of our organisation.
We’re proud of our work because we know it makes a difference - and because we do it together - consistently achieving impactful results in people's lives.
Now, we’re expanding into allied health and looking for a trailblazing Occupational Therapist to join us in a foundational full-time role. This is more than a clinical job. It’s a chance to help shape an OT service from the ground up — backed by a committed team, flexible systems, and a strong culture of care. So if you have both experience and original ideas of your own, we would love to hear from you.
🏠About the Role:
You’ll be working with a mixed caseload of NDIS-funded adult and paediatric clients, providing a combination of:
Functional Capacity Assessments
AT Assessments and recommendations
Capacity Building interventions
In-home and community-based therapy
Telehealth delivery as appropriate
This role includes regular travel to the South Burnett region, with flexibility in how you manage your calendar.
You won’t be working in isolation. You’ll be embedded in a team that’s passionate about continuity of care, creative problem-solving, and ensuring no one gets left behind.
✨ What Makes This Role Different:
$80,000–$120,000 salary depending on experience
Charity-based salary packaging (cover living costs, rent, mortgage, meals, etc.)
Hybrid work model — Aspley office, home, and in-community
Paid transport allowance & work phone
Support to engage external supervision
Move or grow into a Principal OT or team leadership role
Flexibility in your day-to-day with people-first scheduling
Real collaboration with SCs and leadership
We focus on ongoing therapy, not just reports
🧠Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking an OT who is:
AHPRA-registered and has 3+ years of clinical experience
Confident working with both psychosocial and physical disability clients
Skilled in trauma-informed practice
A strong report writer who values both clinical rigour and plain-language communication
Looking for meaningful connection with participants, not just paperwork
Open to co-creating a service and shaping future practice
Eager to work collaboratively with our mature Support Coordination team to deliver cohesive, person-led supports
NOT your typical private practice gig:
We are not chasing daily KPI targets. We don’t want to squeeze 7 billable hours out of you. What we want is:
Thoughtful, high-quality work
Flexibility and autonomy
Support from day one
Real-world outcomes for participants
Collaboration and a passion for Engaging Systems
Our clients are supported with intention. We advocate very actively. We extend our energy, knowledge, and care beyond what’s expected — because we believe people deserve more than just services. They deserve to be seen, heard, and backed.
