Project Manager – Business Transformation (12-Month Contract) Financial Services / Superannuation
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to join a dynamic, close-knit team delivering a confidential business transformation initiative within a boutique superannuation organisation. This is a 12-month contract role based in Sydney, ideal for a self-starter with experience in financial services or superannuation who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving delivery outcomes.
You’ll be working in the early stages of a significant business case with a strong delivery focus, managing schedules, risks, stakeholders and third-party providers. This role has a business-oriented focus (not tech-heavy) and will suit someone who brings maturity, structure, and confidence working across business units, committees, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a business transformation project from initiation to completion
- Manage and monitor project plans, timelines, issues, and risks
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors (legal, investments, risk, admin providers)
- Engage and influence stakeholders across various levels, including senior executives and committees
- Apply appropriate project methodologies (preferably waterfall or hybrid), tailored to meet delivery goals
- Support business case development and documentation
- Navigate fluid and evolving project conditions with a solution-focused mindset
About You
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience delivering business-led projects, preferably within financial services or superannuation
- Proven track record managing projects involving system transitions or business process change
- Solid understanding of superannuation administration systems highly regarded
- Experienced in stakeholder management, with the ability to manage challenging personalities and third parties
- Familiarity with structured project methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.)
- Able to work autonomously in a lean, fast-evolving environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills; delivery-focused
