About the role:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and passionate Animal Attendants to join our team at Campbelltown City Council.
2 x part time animal attendants- 24 hours per fortnight
Casual animal attendants
A successful Animal Attendant will be responsible for the following:
Assisting with companion animal care and treatment daily, including but not limited to:
General animal care, exercising and enrichment.
Cleaning of animal enclosures,
feeding and administering medical treatment as required
Administering microchip implants to identify companion animals.
Maintaining and preparing records.
Educating the public on responsible pet ownership and requirements of the Companion Animals Act.
Facilitating ‘Meet and Greets’ with customers to successfully find an appropriate match for the animals in care, who require rehoming.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Previous experience in handling animals in a shelter environment preferred.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines without close supervision.
Ability to apply standards in a uniform manner.
Ability to work flexible hours, on weekends and on public holidays.
