Role Overview
Flinders Ports are seeking to appoint Marine Services Team Members (one or two roles?) for work in Whyalla, South Australia.
This is a casual opportunity and you will be required to be flexible to work over a span of hours & days within a 7 day/ 24 hour roster (day, evening and midnight shifts) to meet with our operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
The team member will join existing groups and be responsible for participating in the day-to-day operations associated with barge operations as well as other tasks such as:
- Conduct safe mooring of vessels (tie ups and let go's);
- Radio communication with Tug vessels;
- Computer data entry using Microsoft Excel;
- General maintenance work;
- Barge preparation and clean up; and
- Ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to strict safety procedures.
About you
To be successful in this position you will be a driven and eager applicant who has experience working in teams and is safety conscious.
Full training will be provided, however any previous experience working in manual handling or general labouring would be looking favourably on.
