Job description

We are looking for a precast draftsperson to join our fast-paced and dynamic environment in preparing accurate construction and production drawings. You will utilise CAD drafting techniques to show all details required for the complete manufacture and installation of precast concrete components for our diverse pipeline of projects.
This is a full-time role which will see you working from our Yennora office and reporting directly to the Technical Manager whilst working within our valued and highly skilled drafting team.

Essential Job Duties | Responsibilities

Prepare detailed drawings of reinforced concrete and precast structures using 2D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) adhering to tight deadlines and budgets

Prepare structural drawings such as plans, elevations, sections, and details including reinforcement detailing and preparation of bar bending schedules

Prepare precast erection drawings, production drawings, hardware drawings and material lists

Review and analyse the project documents identifying drawing and specification conflicts, insufficient information, and missing dimensions

Rise RFI, as necessary

Working as part of a project team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines while providing quality control/quality assurance to ensure these deliverables are on-time and of a high quality

Plan and organize work priorities to ensure drawings meet the project deadlines

Reviews and check precast shop drawings, as reviewed, element essential data, element label, clouded changes and revisions, and production materials for compliance to production and drawing standards

Review and check precast erection plan and elevation drawings, checking all dimensions against contract documents and standards

Ensure adequate information is correctly interpreted and included on drawings

Conformance of shop drawings with contract documents, scope of works and estimated quantity take-off

Consistency of drawing presentation with production methods and standards

Knowledge | Skills and Abilities required

Advanced AutoCAD working experience and proficiency

Ability to interpret complex architectural and structural design drawings

Ability to visualize in 3D

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner

Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy

Proficient working with Microsoft Office software

Experience working with Online Document Control software such as Aconex, Binder, Procore, etc.

Proficient working with BIM software such as Tekla/ Revit/ ALLPLAN (a plus)

Able to work autonomously and collaboratively to a high standard

Adaptable - our drafting department is fast-paced, and we need someone who can hit the ground running!

Excellent English language communication skills both verbally and in written form

Education | Experience | Certifications

Minimum educational qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering Drafting

Minimum 5 years professional working experience in precast drafting and detailing of concrete building structures

Experience working on precast drafting projects is ESSENTIAL

Remuneration

Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience - up to $150,000 per year
