Term: Full-time
Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight
Pay Level: $2,575.55 to $2,996.06 per fortnight (Level 2-3), plus superannuation and annual leave loading
In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.
Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

About the Department
The People and Safety Department at Council plays an integral role in delivering on the outcomes of Council’s Corporate Plan and strategies, shaping and supporting a culture and work environment which puts people, safety and wellbeing at the centre of organisational design, function and decision making.
The department sits within the Executive Services Directorate and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The team provides innovative, connected and forward-thinking people and safety functions to partner effectively with Council’s leadership, employees and other stakeholders to drive engagement, performance and accountability.
The People and Safety structure comprises the following teams, totalling some 12 employees, located throughout the Southern Downs and granite Belt Region.

- Provide a high level and full range of confidential administration support in a timely and accurate manner with excellent attention to detail, including handling correspondence, scheduling meetings and managing records.
- Provide timely, quality advice and support to the in relation to financial, human and physical resources and activities to the Director People Performance and Safety (Director) and the People and Culture Coordinator (Coordinator).
- Assist in the collection of human resource management information for analysis for reporting purposes.
- Prepare purchase orders and purchase requisitions in readiness to pay invoices.
- Extract and organise data for budget analysis including conducting quarterly reviews of the budget allocations.
What You Will Need
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- The legal right to live and work in Australia
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including experience in building effective working relationships with a diverse range of employees from across the organisation and within the team.
- Experience working in a fast-paced office environment delivering a diverse range of office administration functions and tasks including data entry and management, understanding of compliance and policy, financial administration, reporting and project support.
- Demonstrated experience in working unsupervised, handling challenges effectively and proactively, and to prioritise to achieve outcomes within required timeframes.
- Demonstrated adaptability and initiative, taking the lead when needed.
- To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
