Women’s Community Shelters is seeking a purpose driven and self-motivated Caseworker with a passion for working with and empowering women, to deliver onsite support to transitional housing residents at Allawah House.
About the role
Location: East Gosford
Engagement: Part time, 24 hours per week, worked over 4 days
Contract: Fixed Term to 30 June 2026
Pay Classification: $43.08 - $46.35 per hour (SCHADs Crisis Accommodation Employee Level 2). We pay above award with NFP Salary Packaging benefits
Our Case Worker is responsible for providing person centred case management to women who are homeless and/or experiencing Domestic and Family Violence.
Key responsibilities of the role include coordinated case management using a strengths-based approach, safety planning for women fleeing domestic and family violence, advocacy and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. The role is the primary worker at this service, and works collaboratively with remote team members located across other WCS services.
The Case Worker will be an integral part of the WCS team supporting clients to achieve housing stability and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service. As part of our community-based approach, the role will maintain relationships with local organisations and services for the purpose of making and receiving referrals and promoting community support for Allawah House.
Allawah House is a partnership between Women’s Community Shelters and Pacific Link Housing that delivers transitional housing and support to women over 55 at risk of homelessness or leaving domestic and family violence.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services
Relevant experience in a social service environment, including in client assessment and case management with an emphasis on homelessness and/or domestic and family violence.
Demonstrated experience working according to the principles of person-centred, trauma informed practice
Experience developing relationships and working in collaboration to support client outcomes.
Knowledge of networks, agencies and services and their role in supporting those that have experienced domestic and family violence or homelessness.
Excellent Written and verbal communication skills
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and software operating systems
Hold a current NSW Drivers licence, and hold or be willing to obtain a current WWCC and National Police Check
