As the Clinical Coding Educator and Auditor, you will be responsible for the provision of Clinical Coding education, auditing and oversee graduate staff participating in the Clinical Coding Accelerated Graduate Training Program.
What you'll do
You will employ a range of advance skills to code complex cases to assign accurate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes to episodes of care for all allocated specialty discharges within designated timeframes. You will provide expert advice and education to graduate clinical coders and health information managers regarding appropriate coding of diagnoses, procedures, co-morbidities, complications and the effects of accurate DRG allocation. You will oversee and lead a team of graduates participating in the Clinical Coding Accelerated Graduate Training Program, who work across multiple Hospital and Health Services, ensuring their commitment to training, development, and overall performance. Furthermore, you will provide subject matter expertise in the development, implementation, management and evaluation of the Clinical Coding Accelerated Graduate Training Program and ongoing advice, training, mentoring, auditing and education for existing Clinical Coding positions utlising the Clinical Coding Practice Framework.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively code and audit ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of clinical coding within the State HIM and Clinical Coding Team.
- Ability to plan, develop and implement ongoing coding quality education activities to enable the growth and development of both new Graduates and team members for the State HIM & Clinical Coding Team.
