We’re seeking an experienced Groundsman to join our team at Saints Catholic College

You’ll support the Grounds & Maintenance Supervisor across our residential facility, with duties including:

• General grounds upkeep, landscaping, irrigation installation and repairs
• Develop and deliver propagation systems, summer and winter gardening programs including pruning and feeding programming
• Support with repairs in rooms, preventative maintenance and projects during academic breaks
• General maintenance over the course of the academic year

What you’ll need:

Experience in gardening/landscape/grounds maintenance, including:

• Knowledge of herbicides, pesticides and safe work practices
• Experience in propagation of Australian native plants
• An in depth understanding of plant positioning and effective use of shade and space.
• An in depth understanding of plant maintenance including pruning and feed cycles.
• Horticultural certifications preferred, not required.
• Handyman skills an advantage.
• Current Open driver’s license

• Experience in a collegiate environment and/or education is not a necessity but is an advantage.
• Must have an eye for detail and hold a high bar for quality and aesthetics of works performed.

Requirements

• Availability and willingness to work outside standard hours as reasonably required
• Working with Children Blue Card (or capacity to obtain one)
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain or update)
