Mental Health Occupational Therapist
Geelong, Belmont, VIC | Full-time or Part-time

Are you passionate about mental health and see the value that mental health OT can play in the lives of others?

Perhaps you would like an opportunity to further specialize, integrating therapies such as EMDR, ACT, IFS, or DBT into your practice?

You value self-care and you are looking for the right work/life balance but need the right opportunity to create the right work life blend.

Or you may be looking for a new focus? You have been working with NDIS and love the work but looking for an opportunity to branch out into other areas such as face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy for private clients, and clinical supervision.

About the role:

We’re looking for a skilled and values-aligned OT with experience and interest in mental health to join our growing mental health OT and psychology team in Belmont, Geelong.

This role is ideal for an OT who enjoys working holistically and collaboratively. You’ll support young people and adults experiencing trauma and complex mental health challenges. Many of the people you will see will be neurodivergent, as we are known for our inclusive practice in this space.

The role includes working with NDIS, TAC and private clients, and involves assessment and intervention with a range of presentations.

Once mental health endorsed, you’ll have the option of supporting GP-referred clients under a Mental Health Care Plan, delivering therapies aligned with your interests – from EMDR to ACT, IFS or CBT.

This role might be perfect for you if the following rings true.

You’ve worked in mental health or psychosocial disability and want to deepen your therapy focus and refine your skills with generous PD support and supervision.

The role would be a great fit if you share the drive to deliver the best possible service for clients. Evidence based, trauma informed, culturally sensitive and inclusive.

You like autonomy and flexibility to make life work– but value reliable, generous support.

You are passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients and people with trauma and have a drive to see people learn to embrace unique traits, develop a sense of safety and build confidence.

You love to learn! You will also have a generous PD allowance; we have in-house training and clinical reviews. We have an open-door policy for supervision; supervision is available ANY TIME NEEDED! we also engage subject experts when needed.

The role is a great fit if you are a kind person and listen well. The overwhelming feedback at our last team day, was that it feels safe, safe to learn, safe to talk, safe to be ourselves. This is also our goal for clients.

You are comfortable with complexity and up for a challenge, we are often referred clients who are in complex situations, referrers trust our service. We find, with mutual support, it's a lot easier to sit with complexity, you are definitely not alone in this role.

It really helps if you like coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or any kind of beverage really, we have a regular coffee/tea/drink catch up.

This is a chance to:

Build on your clinical niche in your interest areas, in a safe, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed space.

Receive support and training to specialise or obtain your mental health endorsement.

Create work/life balance whilst growing as a clinician.

We provide:

The role is flexible and family friendly, you can work around school hours or other life commitments. We can work with you to help create the right work life blend.

You will be able to join our wellbeing program where we get to chat, reflect, and engage in self-care. Our morning teas are amazing. Coffee catch ups are a regular feature (Ket bakery has just opened across the road - you need to look this up).

We provide a beautiful workplace with all the tools you need, laptop, phone and resources.

You will receive a travel allowance and a generous PD allowance, and leave.

Supervision as needed (Not just saying this - we are big believers that healthy staff do the best work, so we will support you). In house PD's and clinical reviews are also offered.

Participation in our supported pathway to Mental Health Endorsement (if you are not already endorsed).

A relocation allowance is available for the right candidate.

Generous PD allowance.
