Gasworks Medical Practice is seeking a special sort of unicorn nurse to join our fantastic team.

This nurse can be either registered or enrolled. Must be available to work every Monday and one other weekday to manage our health assessments and chronic disease management clinic. Also, must be available to fill in for vacation and sick relief as required. These hours will be flexible between 8 AM and 5 PM. No weekend or Public Holiday work is required.

Gasworks Medical Practice is a large, well-established, GP owned, private billing family general practice in heart of Newstead. We have ten GP rooms with a three-bed treatment room and procedure room. We use Best Practice and Hot Doc software .We pride ourselves on our ability to combine the highest standard of care, with a friendly, accessible and professional service.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a minimum of 2 years GP experience and experience with Health assessments

Other Key Duties for the role:

All aspect of Childhood Immunisations

Travel Vaccinations

Immunisation catch ups

ECG's & Spirometry

Wound care/dressings

Assisting doctors with minor surgical procedures

Mirena insertion assistance

Daily co-ordination of the treatment room, stock control and medical equipment maintenance

Implementing and practicing infection control

Identifying & contributing to the development of our patient educational needs.

Chronic Disease Management

Iron infusions

Ear syringing

Results and recall management

Triage

Essential Criteria:

Current unrestricted Nurses Registration with AHPRA

2 year's GP nursing experience

Strong sense of initiative and great memory

Highly organised with excellent time management skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

Caring & collaborative approach to patient care for our complex needs patients

Proven multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills

CPR/Advanced life support certificate
