About the Role:
Our Mechanical Fitter position is based at Gudai Darri mine site, where Destec run and maintain a 10 million tonne per annum incremental crushing plant.

The role will be working on the maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair to the Fixed Plant machinery, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment and machinery.

Salary: $184 576 per annum + superannuation on all hours.

Roster: 2 weeks on 1 week off (This position is predominately dayshift, but will at times be required to cover nightshift)

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining plant and equipment to ensure the efficient operation the crushing plant, and associated fixed plant.
• Follow standard work instructions
• Conduct regular inspections and identify potential issues.
• Provide quality shift handovers, and maintain daily logs and reporting
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to help improve plant performance
• Identify hazards in the work environment and resolve them in an efficient and timely manner

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (We will not accept a RPL attained trade certificate without proven prior trade or training)
• Previous experience operating large scale processing plants, ideally in a mining & crushing environment
• Working at Heights & Confined Space (within 2 years)
• Ability to risk assess and apply controls with a high regard for safety
• Current C Class Drivers Licence or above
• Australian Work Rights (We are unfortunately not able to at this time offer sponsorship)
