Senior Policy and Projects Officer
· Location - Parramatta, flexible working locations within NSW
· Employment type - Temporary, full-time, up to February 2026 with potential for extension
· Grade - Clerk Grade 9/10
· Salary - $125,693 pa - $138,510 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
The Multicultural Policy and Engagement (MPE) team leads the development and the implementation of state-wide multicultural community engagement for the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). The Senior Policy and Projects Officer in the Multicultural Policy and Engagement team is responsible for developing and supporting the implementation of innovative policies and programs. This role will lead and support policy and project work to improve access and equity for multicultural communities accessing DCJ programs and services. The role will work with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and advise on DCJ and community priorities and trends that are addressed in a timely and culturally appropriate manner.
What you'll do
· Plan, manage, and execute research, program reform, and evaluation projects to enhance multicultural policy understanding and implementation.
· Offer expert guidance on multicultural policy issues, shaping state-wide policy frameworks and initiatives.
· Represent the department at interagency meetings, fostering partnerships for social justice collaboration.
· Facilitate communication with multicultural communities, ensuring their concerns are addressed.
· Provide secretariat support to senior interagency committees, facilitating strategic planning and decision-making processes.
· Prepare comprehensive written materials, including reports, briefing notes, and correspondence, aligning with agency standards and government requirements.
What we're looking for
· Well-organised and able to manage, plan and prioritise, for the delivery of multiple complex projects.
· Demonstrated experience in providing high level policy advice, including recommendations for policy and program reform.
· Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with government and non-government agencies to improve outcomes for multicultural communities.
· Experienced with writing executive reports.
· Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in social policy and planning.
