Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Occupational Therapists to join our subacute inpatient team.
About Northern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
The Role:
This role requires a therapist with experience in subacute inpatient settings who is passionate about providing person-centred care.
The Grade 3 Occupational Therapist will be accountable for providing leadership to the Inpatient Occupational Therapy team and ensuring that a high level of evidence based Occupational Therapy services are provided to inpatients at Broadmeadows Hospital. The inpatient units at Broadmeadows Hospital include Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM) and Acute Medical / Surgical. Although this role works within the GEM unit, day-to-day oversight and accountability for all units is required by the Senior Clinician, as well as the ability to carry a clinical caseload in any of the inpatient areas.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Fully registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Eligible for membership with OT Australia
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check VIC
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated leadership
- A good working knowledge of community services
- Commitment to lifelong learning
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
