Due to business growth Oroya Labs is seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Paulsens Gold Operation in the Pilbara. This is a Fly in fly out role ex Perth working a 15 days on, 13 days off roster, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a small, high-performing team to deliver timely and accurate results that support mining and processing operations.
In this role, you will carry out a variety of laboratory tasks, from sample preparation to routine and specialised testing, ensuring results are delivered to the highest standard. You will work closely with the processing and mining teams to resolve issues related to sample quality and help maintain the smooth operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
Work independently, managing your time and tasks to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient laboratory operations.
Conduct sample preparation, including crushing, riffle splitting, pulverising, wet and dry screening, Pulverise and Leach (PAL), and classical wet chemistry techniques.
Operate and maintain analytical instruments including an atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS).
Collaborate with processing and mining teams to address sample quality issues and ensure smooth workflows.
Safely handle hazardous chemicals and perform risk assessments, ensuring all procedures comply with safety standards.
Maintain detailed records and utilise Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
Manage laboratory consumables and raise work orders as required.
Role Desirables:
Previous experience with PAL and AAS is highly regarded.
Previous experience working a FIFO roster.
Role Requirements:
Proven experience in a mining or mineral processing laboratory environment.
Relevant certification in laboratory practices or equivalent practical experience.
Full working rights in Australia.
Ability to provide a valid National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months).
Current Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
