About the role
As an APS4 Investigation Assistant, you’ll be a valued member of a professional team focused on detecting and responding to internal and external fraud. Operating within clear guidelines, you’ll support complex investigations and contribute to improving fraud control arrangements across government. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build their career in investigations, compliance, or law enforcement support.

What you will do

Assist in progressing investigations that may lead to criminal prosecution

Work closely with other assistants under the guidance of a National Technical Officer to deliver consistent support across investigative activities

Analyse documents and data, identify issues, and provide timely support to investigators

Help prevent incorrect payments by monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on potential risks

Conduct inquiries and verify information over the phone and in person

What you will bring

A Certificate IV in Government Investigations would be highly regarded for this role

A knack for problem-solving and a methodical approach to data and document analysis

Ability to deliver consistent and reliable support in a high-paced team environment

Experience providing administrative support and managing competing priorities

Confidence using digital tools, databases, and Microsoft Office
