Procurement Advisor for a key player in the public sector
Your new role
Based north of the River, you will be working for a key player in the public sector, committed providing essential services to communities across the region. The company plays a pivotal role in safeguarding resources and supporting the state's growth and development.
Are you ready to make a significant impact in procurement? We are looking for a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to deliver comprehensive procurement services across all Group, Business Unit, and Regional Customers. In this role, you will focus on strategic sourcing, purchasing, and expediting a diverse range of goods and services to support our organisation's operations and goals.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Verifying shopping carts and reviewing robotic purchase orders
- Soliciting competitive bids and ensuring optimal value for money
- Providing procurement support and managing purchase order changes
- Identifying and maintaining relationships with preferred suppliers
- Preparing and maintaining user guides
- Conducting regular contract performance reviews
- Liaising with manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers
- Providing professional advice and nurturing strong customer relationships
- Ensuring accurate data entry in SRM e-procurement and SAP MM systems
- Monitoring purchasing data and recommending system enhancements
What you'll need to succeed
- Substantial procurement experience in a large engineering-focused organisation
- Expertise in supplier and contractor evaluation, along with computer-based procurement systems
- Strong knowledge of contract management and procurement theory
- Familiarity with electronic trading platforms and regulatory requirements
- Exceptional business communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplined teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other business computing applications
- Outstanding prioritisation, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What you'll get in return
- 6 month assignment, with a view to extend
- Hourly rate up to $63 + superannuation
- Weekly timesheets submission, online timesheets
