About the Role
Would you like to be part of a lecturing team dedicated to supporting students in reaching their educational goals? Do you want to foster inclusive and support learning environments within vocational areas?
The Skills for Study lecturer’s primary role is to support the vocational lecturer in the delivery of quality training. To be suitable for the role you will have a proven track record in successful teaching with additional specialist lecturing of literacy and numeracy in adults would highly advantageous. You must have at least five years' experience lecturing literacy and/or numeracy or industry vocation to groups of learners.
Lecturers will also be required to undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery.
Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment applicants must hold or have equivalent to the below specifications.
Language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills
A primary or secondary teaching degree which enables registration with the WA Teachers Registration Board.
or
a post graduate specialisation in the following:
Master of Education (TESOL)
Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice
Other post-graduate LLND specialisation as deemed suitable by Quality Managers. Minimum of 5 years lecturing LLND
And/ or
Vocational skills
Minimum of 5 years lecturing in vocational area
Proven record of successful teaching.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
It is preferred that candidates already possess the minimum credentials required for trainers and assessors to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET), as stipulated at 1.14 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 or can demonstrate progression towards a relevant qualification.
Applicants must hold an equivalent of, or be working towards the current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment prior to appointment, irrespective of holding other adult education qualifications.
