Child and Wellbeing Advisor - Support, Guide, Empower
📍 Location: Deer Park, VIC
💼 Locum Rates:
SCHADS Level 5.1: $61.60 p/h + super
SCHADS Level 6.1: $67p/h + super
💰 Salary (Perm): $102K - $111K + super (FTE)
🕓 Hours: 4 days per week
📅 Contract: Temp to perm
Are you a passionate and experienced practitioner with a solid understanding of the child protection system? We are seeking a Child and Wellbeing Advisor to provide specialist support to early childhood centres and their staff-offering therapeutic guidance, strengthening safety practices, and acting as a key liaison between families and Child Protection services.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build capability and confidence in staff working with children and families through a trauma-informed and child safety lens.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Support early childhood staff in managing child safety concerns
- Act as the first point of contact for guidance on child protection matters
- Provide therapeutic insights and strategies to staff navigating complex situations
- Build staff confidence in reporting, documentation, and liaising with key stakeholders
- Foster collaborative relationships with families and Child Protection Officers
- Ensure alignment with relevant child protection protocols and procedures
🔹 What We're Looking For
- Minimum Diploma qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or similar (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Experience providing therapeutic supports to children and families
- In-depth knowledge of the Victorian Child Protection system
- High level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach and mentor staff in child safety and wellbeing practices
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Full Australian work rights
