Purpose of the Role
The Team Leader coordinates and supervises a small team of support staff, ensuring high-quality care delivery to clients with mental health and/or disability diagnoses. Working closely with clinical teams, the Team Leader ensures recovery-oriented, person-centred services are delivered in accordance with NDIS guidelines and Senami’s policies.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
· Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to support workers.
· Supervise and mentor staff, including performance management and training.
· Coordinate staff rosters and ensure compliance with SCHADS Award standards.
· Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new staff.
· Ensure house meetings, team supervision, and staff performance reviews occur regularly.
· Provide on-call support and document incidents appropriately.
Client Coordination & Care
· Oversee implementation and monitoring of individual support and care plans.
· Conduct risk assessments and ensure crisis management plans are in place.
· Support clients in developing skills in daily living, independence, and social participation.
· Monitor clients’ progress and wellbeing, and adjust supports as needed.
· Ensure culturally safe and trauma-informed care practices are followed.
· Assist clients in engaging with psychosocial, vocational, and recreational programs.
· Collaborate with allied health professionals, families, and stakeholders.
Clinical & Operational Duties
· Coordinate daily operations and community participation activities.
· Ensure documentation and data entry in line with NDIS and Senami standards.
· Conduct incident investigations, escalate clinical concerns, and support critical decision-making.
· Maintain hygienic and well-managed residential environments.
· Ensure medication management, infection control, and safety protocols are followed.
· Uphold privacy and confidentiality of client and organisational information.
Governance, Quality & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with NDIS Quality & Safeguards and Senami’s policies.
· Promote continuous improvement through data analysis and feedback integration.
· Participate in audits, policy reviews, and quality assurance activities.
· Champion recovery-based and person-centred practices across the team.
· Promote WHS culture, report hazards, and participate in workplace health and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements
· Certificate IV or higher in Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field
· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
· Current National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
· Current First Aid and Manual Handling Certificate
· Medication Administration Training
· Valid Driver’s License and Comprehensive Car Insurance
· Full working rights in Australia
