About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Food Preparation and Catering Attendant with strong knife skills to join our airline catering team at Brisbane Airport.

In this role, your knife skills will be essential for preparing fresh ingredients and portioning food accurately. You will also ensure high hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, your main tasks will include:

• Chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using your knife skills according to airline specifications.
• Ensuring food items meet presentation and portioning standards.
• Following food safety rules and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Working closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet daily production targets.
• Assisting with stock management and minimising waste.

The Must-Haves

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience in a Catering Attendant role and kitchen and high volume food preparation skills is essential.
• Strong knife skills for bulk chopping and confident working around sharp tools such as knives, mandolines or slicers.
• Strong ability to cut and portion ingredients efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification is a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to physically stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.

• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have reliable transport to get to the airport at all hours, including early morning shifts
