- Location: 8/56 Station St E, Parramatta NSW 2150
- Employment type: Temporary full time for 12 months with a possibility of extension.
- Grade: 7/8
- Salary:$110,266 - 122,058 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
The Policy Officer position sits within the Policy Team of the Community and Policy Division. Multicultural NSW's Policy Team is focused on pursuing meaningful policy and project work to benefit the lives of multicultural communities in NSW. You will be joining a Policy Team that is committed to creating policy and driving projects that has our multicultural communities of NSW at the centre of everything we do.
The role undertakes policy or project work to inform policy directions, facilitate service delivery reforms or major initiatives and provide well researched and sound options on which Multicultural NSW can rely for effective decision making or delivery.
What you'll do
The key accountabilities of the role include but is not limited to:
• Reviewing Cabinet proposals, project submissions or proposed initiatives, including facilitating consultation with relevant stakeholders.
•Developing, reviewing and editing draft responses to departmental and ministerial correspondence and briefings ensuring key issues are addressed.
• Supporting the development, evaluation and reporting on a range of approaches and initiatives to support Multicultural NSW's strategic goals.
• Analysing and preparing papers for various committees or meetings on policy issues, including cross-portfolio and inter-governmental matters.
• Contributing to the scoping and preparation of project plans.
• Working as an integral team member including working collaboratively with team members
What we're looking for
Essential Requirements
• Experience in developing and implementing service delivery reforms, strategic initiatives or interagency projects.
• Experience in undertaking all aspects of the policy process - research, development, review and evaluation.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.
About you
In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in:
• Problem solving
• Preparation and delivery of both written and verbal briefings
• Prior experience working in government policy will be an advantage
