Your Opportunity:

  • For this position, it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal person, or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.

The position of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker will:

  • function as a member of the CHS CHCS team to deliver holistic, effective, clinically relevant, and culturally safe care in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
  • works alongside the CABS team supporting family-centred, culturally safe and appropriate service pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, this includes engaging with maternity providers, triage and first clinical management of referrals.
  • provides clinical and cultural leadership for the Advanced Health Workers in CHS across the Greater Brisbane area.
