Job Title: Fruit Fly Controller

Location: Barmera, SA 5345

Shift time: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

Payrate: $35-$36 per hour.

About the Role

As a Fruit Fly Controller, you will be part of a responsive and proactive field team responsible for detecting, monitoring, and managing fruit fly outbreaks across designated regions of South Australia. Your role will involve:

• Conducting surveillance and trapping of fruit fly populations
• Applying biosecurity controls and treatment protocols
• Inspecting host plants, produce, and residential/commercial premises
• Engaging with local communities and educating stakeholders on prevention measures
• Assisting with data collection, reporting, and mapping activities

What We're Looking For

We are seeking motivated, physically fit individuals who thrive in outdoor environments and can work autonomously or in a team. To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Ability to follow protocols and complete accurate records
• Sound communication and community engagement skills
• A current driver's licence (essential)
• Full working rights (with no restrictions)
• Experience in agriculture, pest control, or biosecurity (desirable)
• Current Police Clearance (obtained within 12 months)
