Hatchery Manager – Euberta, NSW
Murray Cod Australia (MCA) produces premium, pond-grown Murray cod. Based in the Riverina, New South Wales, our business has a vertically integrated approach to breeding, growing, and supplying what is Australia's best-tasting freshwater fish.
We grow high-quality Murray cod in open ponds (or dams) on the Murray-Darling Basin river system – the fish’s native environment. We believe these ideal conditions make our Murray cod the best on the market. By using a land-based aquaculture model, MCA has one of the lowest environmental footprints in the industry.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Hatchery Manager to lead our hatchery operations located in Euberta, just 15 minutes from Wagga Wagga. This full-time position is integral to ensuring the success of our breeding programs and the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage day-to-day hatchery operations, including spawning, larval rearing, and nursery production.

Monitor and report on hatchery performance, including growth rates, survival rates, and production targets.
Manage inventory and procurement of hatchery supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.

We will assess candidates against the following criteria:
Essential:
Previous experience in hatchery management or a senior role in aquaculture.
Strong understanding of fish breeding and rearing techniques.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with data entry and reporting (training on specific systems will be provided).
Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours during peak breeding seasons.
Current driver's licence.
Desirable:
