About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Recruitment Consultant / Team Leader to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment environment and enjoys engaging with candidates over the phone. You will be primarily responsible for sourcing, screening, and on-boarding candidates for blue-collar industrial roles across warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing, while also supporting the performance and development of other recruiters in the team.

The position will involve approximately 80% of your time focused on hands-on recruitment and 20% on team leadership activities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Candidate Sourcing & Engagement

  • Conduct a minimum of 90 phone screens and 30 interviews per week
  • Source candidates through various channels, including:

1. Online job boards and company database

2. Social media groups and professional networks

3. Industry referrals and talent pools

4. Targeted advertising campaigns

  • Maintain proactive communication with potential candidates, even when no immediate role is available

Screening & Assessment

  • Evaluate candidate suitability based on experience, skills, and job requirements
  • Conduct in-depth phone and face-to-face interviews
  • Request and review on-boarding documents, ensuring compliance with pre-employment requirements
  • Administer reference checks, medical questionnaires, police checks, and other verifications as needed

Collaboration & Placement

  • Work closely with account managers to understand client job requirements
  • Match suitable candidates to job openings and coordinate placements
  • Maintain accurate records in the recruitment database

Team Leadership (20%)

  • Hold regular check-ins and performance catch-ups with other recruiters in the team
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on sourcing strategies and recruitment best practices
  • Help monitor individual and team performance against KPIs
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

Follow-Up & Relationship Management

  • Provide candidates with timely updates on their application progress
  • Build strong relationships with candidates to encourage referrals and long-term engagement
  • Ensure all recruitment activities align with company standards and client expectations

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Resilience & Persistence - Able to manage high call volumes and maintain consistent follow-up
  • Strong Communication - Confident phone manner and ability to effectively engage both candidates and team members
  • Time Management - Capable of balancing personal recruitment targets with leadership responsibilities
  • Attention to Detail - Ensure all compliance and on-boarding steps are thoroughly completed
  • Leadership Mindset - Willingness to support and coach others while leading by example
  • Proactive Approach - Ability to build candidate pipelines and maintain engagement across multiple roles

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in recruitment (2 years would be great)
  • Experience sourcing high volume blue-collar candidates is a plus
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience is desirable, but not mandatory
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with recruitment databases and Microsoft Office
