Your new role

We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Investigations unit as Managing Principal Analyst on a full-time, ongoing basis. Reporting to the Manager, Operational Intelligence, the role will establish best practices for tactical intelligence at IBAC and coordinate and review tactical intelligence output to ensure consistency across our Investigations teams.

The role will provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance to all Intelligence Analysts within a multi-disciplinary team environment to inform proactive or investigative lines of enquiry.

Duties include:

  • Develop Intelligence Analysts to ensure they are confident and capable in providing effective and efficient tactical intelligence support to investigative strategies.
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to Intelligence business planning and policy development to support business outcomes and evolving organisational priorities.
  • Quality assurance of intelligence practice and outputs across IBAC's investigations teams.
  • Supporting the Investigations Managers in the performance management of their intelligence staff and where required, contributing to the management of more complex performance issues through to resolution.
  • Provide high quality advice to ensure information collection and handling adheres with guidelines and relevant legislation.
  • External portfolio oversight ensuring adherence to legislation and consideration of relevant risks.
  • Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure products and services are timely, accurate, relevant and actionable.

Our requirements / Your skill set

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • Possess contemporary knowledge in the collection, collation, evaluation, analysis and controlled dissemination of information in respect to complex investigations and operations.
  • Significant experience working in law enforcement and/or relevant experience in an intelligence or law enforcement environment.
  • Formal qualifications and/or training in Intelligence or a related field.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal skills in policy and report writing, analysis and briefing.

Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
