Casual Grant Writer position for a thorough, conscientious person, who is supportive, efficient and enjoys delivering high quality work.
Precise adherence to established guidelines and procedures is important
Small, professional and friendly team
Flexible, remote working – WORK FROM HOME!
Casual position depending on both your needs and our business needs
About us:
Whitney Consulting is a funding expert founded in January 2017. We write grants, tenders, and business cases. To date, our company has amassed over $280 million in funding for clients, placing our team as Perth and Regional WA’s most in-demand funding specialists.
Our team of experts all work remotely and flexibly and are a close-knit, supportive and professional team.
About the role:
We are looking for someone who loves to achieve goals consistently and efficiently, who is supportive, thorough and accurate in their work. Your role will be researching and writing grant applications, business cases and tender bids, and ensuring your drafts are high quality and comply with guidelines.
This is a casual position. We will offer you projects as they come in, with a due date and you can decide if you are able and willing to take on that project. Workloads can fluctuate during busy/quiet periods.
The purpose of this role is to work with our Project Lead (and eventually directly with clients) to draft applications – including research, asking the right questions to obtain the information you need and then writing a compliant, persuasive application. The goal is to deliver high quality grants, tenders and business cases with considered research and ‘pitch’ for funding – both by writing and managing the jobs yourself and with support of our experienced Project Leads. Detail work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently.
It will see you, day to day:
Working thoroughly to conduct research, guide clients to provide you the project information you need and write quality funding applications
Managing simultaneous, varied projects, making sure research and writing are completed to high quality, to deadline and in line with defined rules and regulations
Working autonomously with strong focus on the task to be done
Communicating with clients and team members via phone and email
In general, this is a position where guidelines, structure, and established policies must be followed fairly closely, while working with and for others.
About you:
You probably describe yourself as a reserved, diligent, and conscientious individual, with a strong commitment to high quality work. You’re the person who is willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help get the job done, leading by example. You like rules and structure and are able to work accurately within established guidelines.
You have a strong commitment to completing tasks on time and you follow things up closely and cheerfully to ensure both correct work and maintenance of relationships. You work thoroughly, leaving nothing to chance and you deliver high quality work, achieving your goals consistently and efficiently.
Your approach to work:
· Pays close attention to detail and focused on high-quality results
· Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously at a faster-than-average pace, with a focus on details
· Task-oriented, with a strong sense of duty
What we can provide:
Clarity of tasks and duties, with processes and procedures in place and continually improving. Sufficient training and support will be provided by our welcoming team. You will have a Project Lead to support you at all times.
Variety of work – each day is different with fascinating projects from a wide range of industries and areas across Australia.
Extreme flexibility! Our motto is “A grant deadline is not negotiable but neither is a child’s school assembly” – we do work and life together. Most of our team work around school hours or other commitments and you can too. Work from home position.
We’re prepared to offer a generous starting hourly rate of $40 per hour (plus superannuation), negotiable for the right person, plus a laptop. You can expect a three-month probation period during which we’ll provide training and work out if we are right for each other.
What you must have to apply for this role:
Based in Australia (WA, SA or QLD preferred)
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience writing for State and/or Federal Government strongly preferred
Previous grants/tender assessment experience strongly preferred
