Senior Financial Accountant (Contract) – ASX Listed Fintech

We are partnering with a leading ASX-listed fintech company to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant on a contract basis. This is a high-visibility role during a critical reporting period, offering the opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Statutory & Technical Accounting

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Oversee group-level IFRS reporting to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Draft technical accounting papers on complex areas including revenue recognition, leases, and impairments.
• Prepare and review the group consolidated cash flow statement.
• Ensure compliance with ASX reporting timelines and disclosure obligations.

Audit & Governance

• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage end-to-end audit activities.
• Coordinate the timely delivery of audit documentation across multiple entities.
• Uphold strong internal controls and ensure adherence to governance frameworks.

Team Leadership

• Manage and support a team of four Assistant Accountants.
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring during the year-end process.

Ongoing Financial Operations

• Lead core month-end close activities and ensure ledger integrity.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations.
• Approve supplier payments in accordance with internal policies.

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified with strong technical accounting experience.
• Proven experience within ASX-listed or IFRS-reporting environments.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth business.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to hit the ground running in a contract setting.
