Kitchen Designer – Practical Thinker Meets Creative Eye

About the Role

We’re looking for a Kitchen Designer who can bring ideas to life while keeping things functional and clever. If you love the balance between good design and real-world practicality, you’ll fit right in.

At Just Cutz Flatpack, we don’t do cookie-cutter. Every space is unique, and we need someone who can guide clients through the design process, help refine their vision, and create kitchens that are beautiful, buildable, and actually make sense to install.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be working closely with our workshop team and clients (both trade and retail), so clear communication and an understanding of materials and manufacturing is key.

Pay rate: $30–$40 per hour, depending on your experience and skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing kitchens that look great and actually work

Creating layouts, moodboards, and joinery drawings (flatpack and assembled)

Collaborating with clients to refine designs based on space and budget

Liaising with our production team to make sure designs are practical to manufacture

You might also be asked to design vanities, laundries, or wardrobes when the project calls for it, especially if the client is doing a full fit-out

What You’ll Need

Experience in kitchen or joinery design (bonus if you’ve worked with flatpacks)

Great spatial awareness and a good eye for layout and proportions

Confidence working with software (Microvellum, CabMaster, SketchUp, or similar CAD tools)

A solid understanding of cabinet construction, materials, and hardware

Strong communication skills – you'll need to explain things simply and clearly

Ability to juggle a few projects at once without dropping the ball
