ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of the Boorloo Bidee Mia (BBM) Accommodation Support Team, you will report to the BBM Accommodation Coordinator.
In this role you will oversee the resident journey into BBM, promote understanding and compliance with rights and responsibilities, and support them to navigate their stay.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Participate in BBM Task Allocation Meetings.
BBM Accommodation Admission Process.
Oversee ongoing administration of BBM Licence to Occupy for all residents.
Develop and maintain BBM Support Plans with all residents.
Work collaboratively and proactively the BBM Team to support residents to achieve their goals, promote participation in community activities, and prevent challenges to their stay at BBM.
Liaise with Lead Workers from other services to maintain their engagement with residents.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The ability to work in a manner consistent with Wungening Values.
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, protocols, boundaries and experience working within the Aboriginal community.
Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people from culturally and linguistically (CALD) diverse backgrounds, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Qualifications in a relevant discipline eg. Welfare, Community Services, Social Work or Counselling or relevant work experience.
Experience supporting people to comply with their rights and responsibilities in a residential setting.
Experience working client management systems, including reporting and case note experience.
A great attitude and curiosity to learn new ways of working.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the team.
Sound computer skills, experience working with MS Office programs and data management systems
Willingness to undertake personal and professional development.

WA Working with Children Card
National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
WA Drivers Licence
ABOUT BOORLOO BIDEE MIA (BBM)
Boorloo Bidee Mia (BBM) provides a low-threshold and change accommodation option for people who have been sleeping rough. It provides 66 rooms, a range of common areas, and ongoing, responsive support available to all residents for the duration of their stay. A key focus of the service is to support Aboriginal people experiencing homelessness.
BBM is committed to working with people through a culturally informed approach. Supports are tailored to develop daily living skills, maintain accommodation, and participate in a thriving BBM community. Additional embedded and visiting services support people to address challenges such as alcohol and other drug use, family and domestic violence, social and emotional wellbeing, and physical health challenges.
