About the Company

Born in 2021 with a simple cushion and a big dream, Hommey is revolutionising the homeware industry. We believe that creating an aspirational, top-quality brand doesn't have to break the bank. Our mission? To help you craft a personalised home that truly reflects who you are, without compromising on style or your budget.

At Hommey, we're more than just a homeware company - we're a family dedicated to making ethical, sustainable choices. From reducing waste in our production chain to ensuring high-standard working conditions, we're committed to doing better for our planet and our people.

About the Role

This is your chance to lead the strategic charge for one of Australia’s fastest-growing homeware brands. As Senior Merchandise Planner, you’ll shape and execute Hommey’s merchandise planning strategy across AU and US markets — from stock flow and margin planning to promotional strategies and inventory optimisation.

You’ll lead with data and commercial nous, scaling our planning function to drive growth and elevate customer experiences. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure every decision reflects Hommey’s bold vision and commitment to sustainability.

We’re after a strategic thinker with a builder’s mindset — someone who can turn insights into action, numbers into strategies, and plans into profitable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Hommey’s end-to-end merchandise planning strategy across all categories and markets.
  • Develop stock flow, margin, and replenishment plans using data-driven insights and commercial acumen.
  • Create planning tools and processes to streamline operations and fuel smarter decisions.
  • Collaborate with production, ops, design, and marketing to align on priorities and execution.
  • Deliver topline reporting on KPIs like category sales, margins, inventory health, and stock cover forecasts.
  • Support commercial strategy through range planning, pricing, and promotional forecasting.
  • Coach and collaborate with our current Merchandise Planner to strengthen structure, foster creative problem-solving, and build a high-performing, solutions-focused planning function.
  • Champion innovative approaches to drive efficiency and growth in a fast-paced environment.

About You

  • 5+ years in merchandise planning, commercial strategy, or analytical retail roles — ideally with exposure to forecasting, range planning, and inventory management.
  • Advanced Excel skills — you build models, not just use them.
  • Experience with inventory systems (DEAR/Cin7 a plus) and Shopify knowledge a bonus.
  • Commercially savvy, with a knack for translating data into strategic, profit-focused decisions.
  • Strong communicator who can align cross-functional teams with clarity and purpose.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and loves taking ownership.
  • A builder’s mindset — entrepreneurial, proactive, and excited to shape a growing brand.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding others, formally or informally.

Why Join Hommey?

  • At Hommey, we’re building more than a home and lifestyle brand — we’re creating a movement defined by comfort, quality, and personalisation
  • We believe in what we do. Be part of an ambitious start-up team disrupting the homewares market
  • A flexible work culture is at the heart of what we do. We believe in flexibility and surrounding ourselves with passionate individuals who value creativity and teamwork
  • We offer Comfort Days: these are five days in addition to A/L accruals.
  • We love our community and are customer-centric. We want to create products that make a difference in the lives of our customers
