Are you an experienced Registered Nurse passionate about empowering people with disability? Do you have strong working knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, and are registered (or eligible) as an Authorised Program Officer (APO) for restrictive practices?

Cando Care Services is a boutique disability support organisation providing high-quality, person-centred care to people with complex support needs, including High Intensity Supports and Supported Independent Living (SIL).
We have an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse, who is confident working autonomously and collaboratively, to take on a high-impact role supporting participants with complex needs across our service sites.
🩺 About the Role
You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering:
Clinical oversight of high-intensity support participants
Health planning, assessments, and medication management
Risk management and compliance under NDIS frameworks
Coordination and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practice reporting as an APO
Staff education and training in health-related support delivery
Participant advocacy and family liaison
Incident response and clinical input during critical events
You’ll also play a key role in NDIS compliance, particularly around mealtime management, seizure care, medication administration, and clinical documentation.
💼 About You
To be successful, you will be:
AHPRA Registered as a Division 1 Nurse
Registered or eligible to register as an Authorised Program Officer (APO) in Victoria
Experienced in the NDIS sector, particularly in SIL or complex care environments
Confident in managing Restrictive Practices, working alongside Behaviour Support Practitioners
Skilled in developing health care plans and ensuring staff implement them effectively
Familiar with NDIS High Intensity Support Skill Descriptors and provider responsibilities
A clear communicator, organised, and committed to best-practice care
✅ Requirements
Valid AHPRA Registration
Current Police Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
APO Registration (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid and CPR
Driver’s Licence and access to own vehicle
