Remote Laundries Coordinator (Entry Level)

Remote Laundries Project – Based in Casuarina, NT (with 2-3 nights travel per fortnight to remote sites)
Full Time | $65,000–$70,000 + benefits | Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates strongly encouraged to apply

Make a difference from the start of your career. Join a meaningful initiative supporting health and dignity in remote Indigenous communities.

We’re looking for a respectful, organised, and culturally aware Coordinator to join the Remote Laundries Project in an entry-level role. This is an ideal role for someone early in their career, ready to grow their skills while working on a program that matters.

About us

At Aboriginal Investment Group (AIG), we believe in creating opportunities and positive change. Our Remote Laundries aren’t just about clean clothes—they help fight scabies and other skin diseases while also providing employment in remote communities.

AIG is 100% Aboriginal-owned and a self-funded not-for-profit, dedicated to supporting the economic and social advancement of communities across the Northern Territory. Our work focuses on:

· Economic development

· Social impact and community benefits

· Environmental sustainability

We’re a small, close-knit team of 9 in Head Office, with 30 staff working in our laundries, which means plenty of variety in your role and room for growth! If you’re highly organised, love helping people, and thrive in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Visit our homepages to see examples of our investments and the communities that we have invested in.

About the Role
Based at our Casuarina office, you’ll provide essential administrative and logistical support to help keep our laundries running smoothly across remote communities. From tracking supplies and coordinating freight, to supporting communication with our on-site teams, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting service delivery in a culturally safe way.

You’ll also travel to remote laundry sites approximately once a fortnight for 2-3 nights, gaining first hand experience of our impact and building respectful relationships with community teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

Act as the first point of contact for project enquiries, remote staff and contractors

Support office tasks including inventory, data entry, and finance admin

Coordinate freight, travel bookings, and meeting schedules

Help prepare maintenance schedules, reports, and incident tracking

Assist with lifting supplies (up to 20kg) and event setups as needed

What We’re Looking For

Strong organisational and communication skills

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

A proactive, team-oriented mindset with attention to detail

Willingness to travel to remote locations (fortnightly for 2-3 nights)

Manual driver’s licence (required)

Respect for and ability to work alongside Indigenous communities

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience in a non-profit or Indigenous-led setting

Studies in Administration, Community Services, or a related field

Cultural understanding or lived experience in Indigenous communities

What You’ll Get

Salary range: $65,000–$70,000 + super + benefits

Benefits:

Not-for-profit (NFP) salary sacrifice packaging up to $15,900

Travel allowance at ATO rates

Professional development allowance

Birthday Leave

Mentoring and support in a culturally safe environment

Supportive team and pathways into roles in admin, HR, community liaison or project management

Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

This position is full-time including a 6-month probation period and commences 1 July 2025.
