The Opportunity
This is a permanent opportunity to join an organisation where you will be part of team having a real impact important public policy issues. In this role, you will have an opportunity to:
- Work with likeminded people who come together to support each other to get the job done
- Continue growing your accounting skills under the mentorship of an FCPA
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including data entry and banking
- Manage fortnightly payroll, PAYGW, deductions, and superannuation
- Prepare month-end journals, adjustments, and depreciation entries
- Reconcile bank accounts and process credit card acquittals
- Prepare Business Activity Statement (BAS) returns, monthly financial reports, and grant acquittals
- Manage petty cash and insurance
The Ideal Person
You’re an experienced Bookkeeper with a keen eye for detail and a reputation for delivering accurate, reliable work. You will also:
- Bring at least five years’ experience in end-to-end bookkeeping, gained in professional services, commercial, or not-for-profit settings
- Have a post-secondary qualification in accounting or business administration
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and confident managing competing priorities independently
- Known for delivering accurate, reliable work with a strong eye for detail
- Proactive problem-solver focused on streamlining processes and adding value
- Strong communicator with a collaborative, customer-focused approach and a reputation as a trusted team player
Salary / Rate
- A salary of $90k - $110k + 11.5% Super will be offered to the successful candidate, depending on experience
- In addition, there is free public parking available near The Australia Institute at their offices in Griffith
