About The Role

AUMOW is looking for an experienced and energetic kitchen assistant to help with the preparation of some customised food orders for clients; arranging the correct packing all items for delivery each day; and general kitchen duties.

PART TIME Hours: 24hrs per week - Monday – Thursdays 9am-2pm; Fridays 9-1pm.

Hourly Rate: $24.98 per hour *Salary Packaging is available

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

Food service and handling experience

Sensitivity to the nutritional needs of vulnerable people and the significance of catering for individual dietary requirements

Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of aged people, people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups (including people of non-English speaking backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders)

Good communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to teamwork

Current unrestricted Class 1A driver’s licence and access to own vehicle

Police Check: All employees working in the Aged Care sector are required to undertake a satisfactory National Criminal History Check prior to employment commencing. AUMOW will facilitate this for the successful candidate.

Desirable

Knowledge of, or previous experience in the Community Services sector

Food Safety certification or willingness to undertake

Your Key Responsibilities

Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and adherence to food safety guidelines

Supporting the Food Service Manager in the preparation of fresh food items daily

Follow specific meal preparation directions to customise food items for client, as required.

Protein Smoothies

Sandwiches

Desserts

Salads

Packing and labelling of meals for delivery in accordance with client orders and packing instructions

Food safety documentation completed daily

Food rotation for prepared food items and ingredients

Identifying and communicating stock requirements to Food Service Manager

Perform all tasks in line with food safety standards including:

Cleaning hands frequently & thoroughly

Keeping hands clean of nail polish and nails short

Wearing PPE inc. hairnet/cap, apron & gloves

Avoid wearing jewellery and make-up

Eating/drinking at designated staff area

No mobile phone in food preparation areas

Thorough cleaning of work areas, food preparation & delivery equipment daily and as per the cleaning roster

Delivery of meals when required

Perform all tasks in line with directions based on our policies & procedures.
