Job Description:

We are a Tobacconist and Lotto Store based in the Loganlea Area. We are a fast-paced working environment with a high customer count. We develop a family-like work environment and have great engagement with our local customers.

As a Retail Assistant in a Tobacconist and Lotto Store, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to customers who are visiting the store to purchase tobacco products, vape products and participate in lotto games.

You will be required to maintain a clean and organised store, handle cash transactions, and assist customers in finding products they are looking for. You will be required to create a fun and engaging customer experience that customers enjoy coming to.

Own Vehicle Transport

You must have your own transport. We have multiple sites across Brisbane. If your performance is to an acceptable standard - further hours will be offered to work at our other locations in the South Side primarily and also in other parts of Brisbane.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide a friendly and welcoming environment.
• Engaging with customers to create friendly community relationships
• Assist customers in finding the tobacco & vaping products they are looking for and make recommendations based on their preferences.
• Sell lottery tickets and scratch cards, and explain the different types of games available.
• Upselling and cross-selling homes, giftwares and accessory products
• Handle cash transactions, including making change and processing credit card payment
• Opening and/or closing the store and reconciling of cash and EFTPOS payments
• Keep the store clean and organised, including stocking shelves, sweeping the floor, and dusting displays
• Creating, maintaining and refreshing retail displays and merchandising of displayed products
• Verify customers' ages to ensure that they are of legal age to purchase tobacco and vaping products
• Ensure that all tobacco products are properly labelled and comply with local regulations.
• Conducting weekly stock takes
• Complete daily sales reports and cash reconciliations.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve any customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be over the age of 18
• Retail management and sales experience
• Must have a vehicle and active QLD Drivers Licence
• Knowledge of tobacco products and lottery games is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of vaping products is preferred but not required
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy boxes
• Weekend work will be a requirement
• Basic maths skills and proficiency with cash handling
