As the Senior Advisor, Claims and Redress you will provide state-wide complex technical claims and redress advocacy and advisory services to Queensland Health, including Hospital and Health Services, the Department of Health, and Queensland Ambulance Services.
What you'll do
You will:
- Draft, review and provide high-quality professional claims and/or redress advice to support our clients in line with relevant processes and timeframes;
- Critically peer review advice and work. Provide well-considered, solutions-focused feedback which ensures accurate and professional advice is provided to clients;
- Conduct appropriate research (i.e. investigate, analyse, interpret, evaluate) to ensure advice and support provided is accurate, in line with industry best practice and acknowledges the unique challenges faced by Queensland Health;
- Manage nominated natural disaster claim submissions in line with relevant federal and state government funding arrangements;
- Co-ordinate, manage and prepare nominated responses on behalf of Queensland Health for applications made under the National Redress Scheme that was created in response to recommendations by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in line with legislative requirements, relevant processes, and timeframes.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in insurance and/or claims management;
- Demonstrated ability to investigate, analyse, interpret and evaluate information and undertake research in relation to technical matters;
- Well-developed liaison and communication skills and the ability to negotiate with clients or other interested parties;
- Proven ability to meet challenging deadlines/timeframes, deliver advice and manage small to large, complex projects;
- Proven ability to recognise, analyse and communicate issues, and recommend and implement successful solutions that lead to operational improvements;
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining high levels of information security, confidentiality and sensitivity;
- Demonstrated ability in self-management of stress factors, practice of effective coping skills and application of organisation led trauma management frameworks.
