About Us

Movement Matters Therapy is a leading Allied Health provider in Central Australia, offering holistic, trauma-informed, and person-centred care across a wide range of services. We are passionate about supporting children and young people with diverse and complex needs, delivering therapy that promotes long-term functional outcomes and meaningful participation.

As a small team working in a big landscape, we’re committed to improving access to quality paediatric care across Alice Springs / Mparntwe and remote desert communities.

Here, every day is a chance to make a lasting difference — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Why Join Us?

By becoming part of the Movement Matters team, you will:

· Work with children and youth from birth to young adulthood

· Deliver therapy in-clinic, at schools, in homes and occasionally in remote communities

· Help reshape how Allied Health is delivered across Central Australia

· Access ongoing mentoring and funded CPD opportunities

· Receive relocation assistance through the NT PHN (up to $7K)

· Live in a region with red dirt adventures, rich culture, and a close-knit community

· Make an impact in a deeply rewarding, under-serviced area

· Thrive in a flexible, values-led and supportive team environment

About the Role

We are looking for a Paediatric Physiotherapist to deliver evidence-based, goal-directed therapy to children and young people, especially those funded by the NDIS. You’ll work with a wide range of conditions — from developmental delays and neurological conditions to musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory challenges.

You will support long-term development through techniques like:

Functional movement and motor learning

Postural and gait analysis

Hydrotherapy and water-based intervention

Respiratory and postural management

Equipment prescription and mobility training

You’ll work independently and collaboratively, across clinic, home, school, and community settings — building capacity in families, educators, and support networks.

What You'll Do

Conduct functional, neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and mobility assessments

Develop and implement tailored physiotherapy plans

Empower families and carers through coaching and hands-on support

Prescribe and manage assistive equipment (training and support provided)

Deliver hydrotherapy (if trained — support offered to upskill)

Collaborate with schools, GPs, support coordinators and other allied health team members

Provide clear, trauma-informed reports, progress notes and NDIS reviews

Help shape local access to paediatric physiotherapy through community involvement and advocacy

About You

You’re a Physiotherapist who:

Is passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs

Values holistic, person- and family-centred care

Has a strong interest or experience in neuro, disability, and paediatric development

Thrives in diverse settings – from homes to schools to the red centre of Australia

Communicates confidently and builds trust with families, educators, and team members

Is excited to live and work in a vibrant regional community

Values both autonomy and team connection

What You’ll Need

· Degree in Physiotherapy & current AHPRA registration

· CPR/First Aid certification

· NT Ochre Card (WWCC) + National Police Check

· Driver’s licence

· Strong interpersonal, time management & documentation skills

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience with NDIS clients or in remote/rural communities

Hydrotherapy or assistive technology experience

Familiarity with Cerebral Palsy, ASD, FASD, and complex physical disabilities

What We Offer

Competitive salary + retention bonus:

· $5,000 retention bonus at 2 years + annual loyalty bonuses after

· Relocation grant up to $7,000 via NT PHN

· $10,000 scholarship through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP)

· Flexibility, autonomy, and genuine work-life balance

· Supportive team check-ins, mentoring, and supervision

· A workplace culture built on care, celebration, and collaboration

· The chance to live and work in one of Australia’s most beautiful, culturally rich regions
