Astrid is an award-winning specialty pharmacy and clinic, pioneering in medicinal cannabis/cannabinoid medicine, plant-based therapies, nutraceuticals and naturopathy with pharmacies in South Yarra Melbourne and Byron Bay and a Telehealth clinic (https://astrid.clinic). We are looking to expand our National Telehealth services, with in person clinic services available in Byron Bay, NSW.

We are inviting PGY4+ Doctors and Nurse Practitioners to apply (GPs/Specialists/Non-VR all welcome)

All our Practitioners are independent with autonomy over their own working schedule and location

About the opportunity:

At Astrid, we are driven by our purpose - to put the plant-power back to patients. Astrid Health is a unique business and we pride ourselves in providing the highest possible patient care.

Our patients have a variety of medical conditions including chronic pain, mental health disorders, insomnia, cancer symptoms etc. As a Medical/Nurse Practitioner your responsibility will be to assess patient needs and prescribe an appropriate and tailored cannabinoid medicine treatment plan if suitable, complying with Federal and State regulations.

As a Doctor/NP working with Astrid Clinic, our services to you will include:

Nursing, pharmacist and administrative support from our experienced team

Cannabinoid medicine training and ongoing clinical support from Dr Shu Ng our Chief Medical Officer

Regular Astrid social and team bonding activities including educational events

Private billings are calculated based on a split fee service model agreement.

Who we are looking for:

GPs/Specialists/Non-VR/NPs all welcome

PGY4+ HMOs/Registrars interested in medicinal cannabis welcome

Well-rounded medical experience to be able to confidently assess and recommend patient treatment plans

Ability to work independently, but enjoy being part of our highly engaged Astrid team

Compassionate and dedicated to best clinical care and outcomes

Willingness to learn and commit to professional development

Availability of at least 1-day (or 8 hour equivalent in split shifts) per week commitment or more for best patient continuity of care

Ideally Melbourne-based (for in-person catch ups and social/team bonding activities) but not essential, interstate/rural candidates welcome

Some personal/professional experience with medicinal cannabis is preferred (SAS-B applications or Authorised Prescriber experience), but not essential as we can provide training

Bonus if you are hoping to build a reputable profile as a holistic/integrative medical practitioner, or have experience in Women's Health, Longevity Health or Weight Loss Management

General or Specialist AHPRA registration with Professional indemnity cover for practice
