VR General Practitioner | $200 per hour | Veteran Health | Telehealth

Our mission to support veterans and connect them with services that address the debilitating physical impacts resulting from service in the Australian Military. Our primary focus is on managing and alleviating chronic pain through a multidisciplinary approach, involving a team of healthcare professionals and specialists.

Upon enrolment, each veteran is assigned to a dedicated case worker who conducts thorough assessments to determine eligibility for our services in line with DVA requirements. Those who qualify are then referred to our clinical team formed by Pain Specialist and Medical Practitioners for an in-depth evaluation of their health and medical history.

Our clinical team, which includes nurses, doctors, and pain specialists, is responsible for managing and coordinating the veteran's pain treatment. We adopt a holistic and integrative approach to healthcare to ensure comprehensive treatment. Additionally, our non-clinical team, comprised of social work caseworkers, provides continuous care, coordination, and support throughout the pain management process. Our aim is to deliver comprehensive support and services to improve the quality of life for veterans, assisting them in achieving a pain-free and fulfilling life.

Job Description

The role of the General Practitioner is to conduct follow up appointments via Telehealth to support the pain management and continuity of care for veterans in our program. Some of our therapeutic modalities include medicinal cannabis. All medicinal cannabis treatments are administered in strict accordance with DVA and TGA regulations and under the guidance of a Pain Specialist.

Benefits

High Remuneration of $200 per hour

Part Time - 1 - 2 days per week, fully remote work

Ongoing contract (12 month or longer)

Paid online training provided (8 hours)

Daytime hours – Monday to Friday

No weekends or after hours work

Requirements

Must hold AHPRA Specialist Registration

Be an Authorised Prescriber

Hold current Professional Indemnity Insurance

Familiar with DVA patients

Competent in performing Telehealth Consultations
