Lead the Engine Room of our Op Shops!
Are you an experienced operations leader with a passion for logistics, team coordination, and process improvement?
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading diverse teams, and is driven by purpose. As the Distribution Centre Manager, you’ll not only oversee the smooth flow of goods from donation to distribution across our retail network, you’ll also oversee the Blair Athol Op Shop - supporting both our retail operations and vital community programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage the end-to-end operations of the distribution centre, including the intake, sorting, and dispatch of donated goods such as clothing, furniture, and household items.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of staff, drivers, and volunteers. Provide training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee delivery schedules, furniture pickups, and stock distribution to ensure stores are well-supplied and operations run smoothly.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in warehouse workflows, inventory management, and resource allocation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Store Managers, the Emergency Relief Coordinator, and the broader Operations team to align distribution efforts with organisational goals.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain a safe and compliant workplace, adhering to Work Health and Safety standards and Lutheran Care’s policies.
- Budget & Reporting: Monitor budgets, track performance metrics, and contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, including experience working with volunteers.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities with a focus on efficiency and safety.
- Basic computing skills and the ability to manage budgets and reporting.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in Retail Management / Warehouse Operations
- Experience in managing a team / working and understanding the principles of working with volunteers.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in a team and autonomously.
