Service NSW is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Services & Platforms team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our critical SaaS tools that supports essential government services used by our platform and product teams.

About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer - Integrated platforms at Service NSW, you will play a pivotal role in the development, and maintenance of our range of SaaS-based collaboration tools that support critical government services. You will be responsible for supporting all SaaS-based platforms for our Digital Services team, managing tasks such as administration, user onboarding, and change management as well as working closely with other engineers to integrate observability solutions into our broader technology ecosystem.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in cloud-based SaaS tools, technologies & platforms skills who is passionate about contributing to the delivery of high-quality services to the people of NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support, maintain and expand tools infrastructure to meet future architecture design and deployment requirements across all SaaS tool in scope

  • Maintain and support Auth0 solution in SNSW ecosystem

  • Support and optimise new and existing dashboards, searches, and alerts across all SaaS Tool in scope under the guidance of Principal Engineer.

  • Troubleshoot platform related issues and assist team members with technical issues.

  • Work under the guidance of Principal Engineer to expand use of the PagerDuty and Splunk platform

  • Automating recurring administrative tasks across Splunk Cloud, Splunk, Observability, and PagerDuty using Terraform

  • Automating recurring administrative tasks across SaaS Tools in scope

  • Automating Platform DR testing
  • Developing dashboards and alerts within Splunk Cloud and Splunk Observability
  • Provide Administrative support for wide SaaS tool group support in scope
  • Assist in implementing performance metrics across all Saas Tools in scope to deliver high quality, efficient and compliant services and a positive customer experience

What You'll Need:

  • Experience with cloud native SaaStool design and implementation, AWS is highly preferred

  • Understanding and integration experience of following dev and test tools with CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience in building, and maintaining Splunk Observability setups with Kubernetes and ROSA platform

  • Experience in decommissioning apps, open telemetry and cloud platforms infrastructure

  • Experience in authentication and authorization services

  • Experience in establishing and managing PagerDuty business and technical services, escalation policies, event routing, service orchestration, on-call schedules, and StatusPage integration

  • Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

At the point an employee is notified of our intention to assign them to a role, the relevant leader will discuss headquarter options.

Salary Service NSW Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $102,899 base plus superannuation
