About the role

JL Choice Mart' is seeking a dedicated and experienced Department Manager to join our team in our Adelaide biggest Asian local supermarket. In this full-time role, we are looking for Meat Department Manager, Sea Food Department Manager, Bakery Department Manager and SUSHI Department Manager. you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of a key department within our retail store. You will work closely with our Store Manager to ensure exceptional customer service and drive sales growth for your department.

What you'll be doing

Manage the day-to-day operations of your assigned department, including staff supervision, inventory control, merchandising, and loss prevention

Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the customer experience

Analyse sales data, monitor industry trends, and make informed decisions to optimise departmental performance

Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner

Collaborate with the Store Manager and cross-functional teams to achieve overall store objectives

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations

Mentor and develop your team, providing training, feedback, and support to help them reach their full potential

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail management or supervisory role, preferably in a similar department or industry

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Language: English, Mandarin or Cantonese.

Ability to analyse data, set goals, and develop strategies to drive department performance

Excellent customer service orientation and a commitment to providing a positive shopping experience

Proficient in using retail management software and technology

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required
